My name is Alex, and I've been with TUG since October 2021. I've had my fair share of experience trading options before, but something has always been missing even with my in-depth knowledge of many most common option strategies. Whenever the markets were trending, I would make money, but I'd start losing as soon as volatility spiked and some uncertainty appeared. I just knew there was a better way of trading options, and, I guess, what I was missing was the actual hands-on knowledge of risk management and real-time applications of strategies. You may watch every available video out there and read every single book on trading. Still, the market's price action will be different every day, and every day it's going to be based on a different set of unique circumstances. Unfortunately, no book can cover every possible scenario, so I decided to look for somebody with experience who could explain how the markets work behind the curtains and show me how to react to the price action when the markets move.

That's how I found the TUG and met its founder, Hal Brent. In fact, at that point in time, I've been following the TUG YouTube channel for a couple of months, and I was highly impressed with the quality and the depth of the market analysis in every Hal's presentation. Even if you are not ready to sign up for the paid membership, I'd highly recommend watching Hal's weekly MarketWatch videos. They are fantastic for market awareness as well as understanding the price action in general. Another thing I liked about Hal was that he never tried to sell anything to me in his videos. As opposed to many, he never bragged about any achievements or predictions that he had made. Finally, I scrolled through the videos on the channel and found out that the first video was released over ten years ago. Ten years, and the group is still active - I figured this guy knows a thing or two about trading, and I wasn't wrong at all.

First off, the TUG membership gives you access to the "Option Masters" education videos. These videos are an absolute well of knowledge. There are countless hours of critical information (four months, and I'm still far from the end), from professional trading principles to advanced strategies and their practical applications based on real-life examples and extensive back-testing. As they say, the stuff they don't teach you in school, you can forget about most of your typical educational videos from YouTube. Then, there are two live MarketWatch sessions every week - on Sunday evenings and Wednesday mornings. Hal takes these very seriously and typically spends around an hour and a half to two hours analyzing market events, explaining why things happen, and going through charts to show every possible outcome based on current market conditions. Suppose your goal is not to follow someone's picks blindly but to start having your own opinion on the markets, start developing your own bias, and as a result, make your own educated decisions on using the right strategies under the right market conditions. In that case, you'll find these sessions extremely beneficial. Finally, there is a group chat consisting of several channels, including the "secret trader" channel, where Hal occasionally posts some of his trades. Another great resource to learn, communicate with like-minded people, and even ask for real-time trading help.

Overall, I'm very happy with my TUG membership. As long as you have realistic expectations and are willing to learn, there is a lot to take and not much to lose. In trader's terms, the risk/reward ratio is impressive, and I'd recommend anyone give it a try!

I have been with Hal Preston Brent and the Trader User Group since 2012. I started off, a young kid from a German high school curious on how options worked. I was instantly hooked on the free videos Hal provided because of his simple but in depth way of explaining stuff. I signed up for a one year membership and spent hundreds of hours watching all the videos in his library. I started off with 20k to my name, this year and I broke 300k after taxes! With a little luck, but especially with the in depth knowledge on how options work and when to invest in the markets, I have achieved more than I could have dreamt of. After some time with Hal, you’ll get the feeling that “this really isn’t hard at all”, which shows how natural things will come to you. I am very grateful for having found the Trader User Group, it has literally changed my life.

Best money spent trying to learn the Market. Hal brings a great balance Knowledge, Experience, & calculated risk. Only been a member for a couple of months, But ROI has been great. Like a good Poker player, Keeps a straight face and ups the ante when the cards are in his favor. There are a lot of smart people that can tell you what's going to happen in the future. Hal deals with the current situation.

I joined the Trader User Group in May 2016. I’m staying for the ongoing teaching that happens in all parts of the website. The chat channels give me access to questions from my fellow Tuggers and answers from Hal Brent and also more advanced TUG members. The Weekly Market Watch gives me a global view of what may be expected from the markets—Bonds, Currencies, Energy, Equities, Metals, etc.—in the upcoming week. The Option Masters Education Series is available at any time for a refresher dive into a particular topic. Hal is adding additional videos each month. In private coaching I get the benefit of asking about specific ways I can improve my trading skills—and learn some new ways to trade as well. The coaching can cover risk management, chart-reading, and strategy.

Education is the key to success!!

Hal is an exceptionally gifted coach and teacher with unmatched skill, ability and passion to communicate, with a unique clarity, complex option and market concepts and strategies to the newest beginner as well as the most advanced traders.

If you are looking for a place where you can learn to trade the markets successfully on a consistent basis and making money on a consistent basis, I would simply say that joining the Trader User Group is a must!

In my quest to discover and understand the trading business, I watched many hours of videos and seminars, I read books and studied articles, but none of these presentations, whether giving a simplified or complex analysis ever really captured the totality of what makes options work. Then I came across Hal’s TUG videos on You Tube. The content and clarity is unmatched. Hal is not only extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but Hal is by far the most gifted communicator that identifies and explains all the parts and pieces of the financial markets, options and futures trading, what they are, and how they work, why they work or don’t work.

The Trader Group also offers numerous hours of tutorial and instructional videos in the Option Masters Series that cover the entire spectrum of investing and trading the financial markets. I have personally found Hal’s one-on-one caching particularly valuable. Thank you, Hal, for helping me and sharing your time and expertise!

Although Ii am not based in the US, I can say that joining the TUG has been a great investment. Hal is worth every dollar spent and then some. Alone the videos are worth a ton and the way Hal explains things is phenomenal. Many things he talks about in his Pre-Market sessions can be applied not only to US, but also European markets.

I've been with TUG (Trader User Group) for 2 years now and words cant describe what I've learned from Hal. I used to daytrade stocks and I was in other groups that didnt teach me how to manage risks or to trade smart. I was losing trades all the time. I found Hal through a webinar that I attended. I listened to 4 different guys and immediately knew right away that Hal was the best of the bunch. His style of trading is very understanding and he explains it very simply for anyone to understand, not to mention that the TUG group is amazing, literally like family to me. Everyone is very helpful and fun. I've since doubled my portfolio dramatically being with Hal. IVE BEEN GRATEFUL THANKS HAL AND TUG NATION FOR MAKING ME A BETTER TRADER AND A BETTER PERSON.

I want to share something today. When I joined this group I was and still AM a Rat Brain Trader! I did not have the right mind set to begin with...Thinking that I could blow through just what I thought were the IMPORTANT videos. Not only did I skip through the "RISK MANAGEMENT" video.....I pretty much forgot about it all together and went straight to Option Basics...The most important thing that I learned yesterday was watching that video on Risk Management! I thought that I could do a bunch of small little trades and not really know what is going on with Deltas and Vega and especially THETA...and win [WRONG] You are sadly mistaken as I was...You can not do it! I finally understand that I will just keep losing ...losing...losing!

My new mindset is to do [One on One coaching] and I will never trade real money again until Hal feels I am ready, or until I know that I have enough tools and guidance to start trading with real money. Hal is right it is very hard to fight the Rat Brain Mentality. Going on just a hunch is dangerous and dumb. I am tired of being dumb and giving in to the Rat Brain. I really hate those words by the way because it is the truth. I am new here at TUG and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. I can not stress to you enough of how I identified with what Hal says in that video about Risk Management. I thought that I could do it myself. What a Dumb [Rat Brain Thought].

I thank Hal for his advice and everything that he says in his videos and I would have never ever gotten from anyone what he has given to me today, Common Sense and Discipline. I will grow here at TUG into a smarter person and have much success as the people here at TUG. I Love to listen every day at how they are winning ALL of the time on their trades. It is truly amazing and I want to be like that also. I hope I can stay here year after year and with future One on One Sessions, to become that Winning person. So if you are new like me I wish you the best and I hope that you will not make the same mistake that I did by skipping what we may think is Boring. "RISK MANAGEMENT" is truly a good foundation for anybody no matter who you are.

I came across Hal and TUG videos while searching for information on YouTube on Options Trading &Trade Ideas. I started listening to Hal’s weekly Sunday 30minute webinar which he posts free in Youtube. Hal’s presentation, content and clarity drew my attention instantly and got addicted to his webinars so much that I started a conversation with Hal to understand more about TUG. As Hal started conversing with me in emails, I was amazed at the articulation & information that Hal shared. Through these emails and the weekly webinar, I realized that there was something different about Hal than the rest of the trader community I had come across. Having burnt myself with a couple of other trading memberships, I was hesitant & took my time to join TUG. All along Hal patiently answered all my queries of the benefits & advantages what he and the TUG association would provide to me. After weeks of deliberation, I finally decided to join TUG. From then on, I never regretted anytime, the decision to join TUG. I have been enjoying this journey, learning to swim with lessons in trading, strategies, price action, trade bias and world market economics.

An ex-Marine pilot, Hal with his deep analytical skills and patience, trains you how to analyze trade ideas, execute and adjust trades with Options Greeks with his weekly webinars and Skype chats. I am simply blown away in the way he maneuvers live trades, adjusting any part of the trade be it a simple option trade, an intermediate spread trade idea or an advanced trade strategy such as a simple Butterfly or an Iron Condor trade. One of the important lessons that Hal imparts as part of the training is risk management and capital preservation. This is key to being a skillful trader rather than rushing in to make a quick buck using luck as the main factor. Hal trains you for the long haul, how to generate consistent returns with safe trading strategies & ideas that not only imbibe in you a sense of discipline, but it also calms in you the urge to rush, invest in trades that potentially results in huge losses! And very soon such indiscipline within you can deprive you of all your capital to continue as a trader!

I have been a member of TUG for only a few months in 2016. The year 2016 started off extremely turbulent and we have had a couple of volatile economic events like the Fed Interest rate hikes, BREXIT. Hal has helped the group manage the black swan event BREXIT, where most of the members in the group not only preserved their capital but also generated profits thanks to Hal’s accurate timely warnings as well as extremely profitable trade ideas with the lowest capital deployment. He shared trade ideas for pre & post economic events such as BREXIT, Fed Meetings which had a hit rate of 100% with every trade being profitable! The risk to reward ratio with Hal’s trade strategies and trade ideas are extremely high and as you practice, this is something you will simply marvel and learn!

The members in this group are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and most of them trained by Hal. Members collaborate and communicate, share trading ideas, strategies and information.

The cost of the TUG membership and Hal’s training are economical. All you need is patience, perseverance, willingness and commitment to learn and follow Hal. You will recover the cost of the membership and training within the first few months of being a member in this group.

I only wish I had met Hal 5 years ago when I first ventured to start trading and I would have not lost money like the “Rat Brain Trader” I was before joining TUG.

In summary if you want to understand, learn and practice for life, the right way to trade, understand trade bias, technical analysis, option greeks, advanced strategies and risk management, this is the group you gotta be in!!!!!!!

Hal, ,,, This man never sleeps! Hal is always on top of any market. He has a gift to show us - in advance, where the market will be going in the near term and shows the long term possibilities. Hal's educational skills are second to none. Hal provides a complete review of the markets and the many intertwined factors -- technical and fundamental. I pick up valuable information every time I listen to Hal and the other members of the TUG group. Trader User Group is a very valuable tool for us (ex)rat brain traders!

Education is the key to success. I learned about TUG while seeking information on YouTube for a beginners course in Options Trading. Having scanned a few videos, I was very impressed with Hal's Basic Options I & II training. The presentation was just the right speed. It was clear, concise, high quality and sufficiently detailed. Hal is clearly a great instructor and I look forward to learning more as a new subscriber. Thank you TUG!

I want to express my appreciations to Hal during my one on one coaching session for his patience and understanding since my microphone was not working properly. He is able to guide me to visual information and explanation in a very particular and clear manner. Hal makes me feel as I'm important - either I am in the very beginner stage ( building the chart stage) and I do not know nothing yet....I cannot wait till my next private session. All I can say about Trader User Group is “WOW” !!! I was very surprised when I signed up for Trading User Group. I have only been a member for less than a few weeks but I have been “eating up” the material and I’m stunned at volume of the giving information as well the fantastic (simple to understand) way in which Hal presents the information.I really have to say that TUG side is the best trading educational of Options&Futures I ever got my hands on and I have been on many fee based educational sites.I find that TUG covers the key aspects of option trading that anyone should need to become a profitable as long as the work is done : study and practice..practice..practice. An added benefit is that I’m getting all this info under one roof and now I am going to sign up for one on one mentoring sessions since I love Hal’s relaxed and easy-to-follow teaching style. Hal, thank you for very helpful content and teaching approach in all that you do! For me, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that TUG is a very valuable place to be. Thanks again!

I have taken few other educational courses before coming to TUG. I am very impressed with both educational content and regular market updates of TUG. Option synthetics and Risk Management are key for successful options trading. Understanding options synthetics and practical application of option synthetics are two completely different things. You can find the best ever explanation for practical application of option synthetics at TUG. TUG is BEST EVER trading related education investment I have ever made. I am saying this only after spending at least 25K with several other educational companies.

He calls the markets with acumen, is very personable, fun and professional. He is fluid in stocks, options and futures, with an expert grasp on trading, from the simple and binary, to complex and time sensitive strategies. Hal is a great trader who is generous in sharing experience in the market. Bottom line, he helps his group make money. Period.

Hi, Hal I must let you know I am indeed grateful for all the works you and your team have done to offer the TUG service and all the brilliant videos and Secret Trader Sessions. Within the very short time of joining TUG, I must confess I have learnt a lot. I am a just-retired person and doing Option Trades has been my planned post retirement past time as well as the means of regular income. Though I have attended quite some option classes in Hong Kong, they only served to puzzle me and made me bewildered. The TUG learning center materials cleared the fog and convinced me that my plan of doing Option Trade after retirement is do-able and profitable - both financially and mentally. Your videos and presentations are so good that I feel obliged to let you know that I value them very much; and as a foreigner whose mother tongue is not English, I have been particularly impressed and benefitted by • The clarity of your English pronunciation • The very logical organization of video/presentation flow that greatly aid my understanding • The timely reference to the different entry levels of the target audience • The timely recap of key points and review • And particularly the very useful online demonstration (in Iron Condor Part III)I had joined some Secret Trader Sessions and indeed I enjoyed them very much. Now I have finished the Iron Condor series (up to Part III), they are just tremendous and have boosted my knowledge and confidence to put my feet in water. I must express my gratitude and would like to say powerfully: thank you very much indeed.

I have been a TUG member for a year now and during that time have learned more about trading and more importantly about capital preservation than I ever learned during years of trading or from other mentors, some of whom were much more expensive than TUG. Hal seems to almost love teaching as much as he does trading. He makes his points clearly and concisely but he is always patient and really takes interest in his students. In trading we are always wanting the best return on capital and TUG membership is that, you gain much more from TUG membership than you invest in the membership and the higher the level of membership you choose the more you gain.

I am a retired investment banker with extensive experience in stocks, bonds, mortgage finance and corporate finance. A few years ago I decided to learn technical analysis and options trading and after investing over $10,000 in education I am, at best, at an early intermediate stage. After taking courses from some of the nationally known providers, I fortuitously stumbled upon TUG on the internet. I sampled a few a la carte courses and sat in on one PMT, and I signed up for full membership just a few weeks ago. Hal is an excellent instructor and his education programs alone are well worth the membership fee. I tend to be a loner, but options trading has humbled me to the point where I realize I need help, and TUG provides a huge support system for its members. In addition to the twice weekly PMT, there is an on-going daily chat room with Hal and other traders offering invaluable guidance and insight. I am so impressed with the value received from joining TUG and grateful that I have finally found the education and support needed for this very complicated field.

Hey Hal …. Just wanted to shoot you a quick e-mail to say thanks …. Last Thursday, my brother and I were in a shaky trade … your analysis of the market together with your “hunch” suggested an up move at the opening followed-up by a downturn …. Sure enough things opened up – I grabbed my brother out of a meeting – told him what I gathered listening to you and convinced him that we should ditch this bad risk/reward trade …. By 3 in the afternoon, he tells me “your morning guy is looking like a genius on this one” Saved us multiple thousands … I guess the annual traders group fee paid off Enjoy your trip to Europe and have a really good Christmas M.S.

I do a lot of market neutral trades, Condors, BF\'s and I had a great experience yesterday. With concerns of the debt debate I felt it a good idea to take profits early in an IWM iron butterfly, normally I would have simply exited the entire trade at one time, BUT after listening to Hal and seeing how he uses the Donchian channels fast MACD, and the 4 cross 12, I applied that to a five min chart. I closed the put credit spread at the high end of yesterday\'s run up, then following the signals closed the call credit spread at the lows of the day, I made a LOT more profit doing that than how I normally would have closed the trade. Bottom line what you learn in the trader group will be of benefit to you no matter what style of trading you do. RL

Of the three, risk management has always been my \"weak suite\", and at the insistence of Hal, have had to buckle down and begin to learn this discipline. There is a lot to it, but have become committed. It now pervades my thinking on any trade I consider, and have to credit Hal\'s work for this dedication to assessing and applying risk in all the trading I do. It has already been beneficial in learning how to hedge a portfolio with options.

In 2009 after watching my stock portfolio cut in half from the recent market crash I had an epiphany. Buy and hold was no longer a viable way to make money. I started reading and studying about Options trading. I started looking for some advance training and I quickly found two things: 1. There are hundreds of courses being offered for $2,000 and up. 2. There are many “experts” proclaiming how you can make 100k a year by subscribing to their newsletters that costs $500-$1,000 per year. (if it sounds too good to be true….) I wanted to find someone who could teach me about options on a personal basis without the BS and hype. I decided to search the meet up groups in my area and I found a local group headed Hal. I attended my first meeting and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. Each month we go over a different topic and through the Traders User Group website there are now online webinars to further my knowledge. I have gained a solid understanding about the way the markets work and other factors that affect the daily fluctuations of the markets. The knowledge of charting and reading the indicators has helped improve my trading. I am looking forward to learning more options strategies in future classes. I like to trade vertical spreads and a recent class we had on the Greeks has helped me understand how to use the delta in selecting the strike price to increase the probability of a successful trade. The small price to help maintain the website is a pittance compared to the wealth of information available for the members and the personal help that Hal gives us.

Professionalism = Doing the job well and in a timely fashion. I witnessed professionalism recently and it is a good experience worth sharing … Earlier this week the new TUG website was launched. When my member password arrived I tried all the buttons. Everything worked perfectly except for the archived webinars. After a quick note to Hal I received a call from “Jack The Webmaster”. Jack checked to see if others (with older PC’s) might be having a similar problem. In about 24 hours, Jack sent back a note that the problem was fixed. Now that is a good example of professionalism.

Hals work with the Trader User Group has greatly expanded my knowledge of options and futures. He combines a thorough knowledge of the theoretical with a no-nonsense approach to making money. As the site grows its value will increase exponentially.
