Hey folks, just a quick update regarding the crazy markets we’re currently experiencing…if you have any type of long positions in play you should be hedged…as long as we have uncertainty in the markets and headline risks are spread across most publications then volatility will continue to rise…we are also seeing the markets price in a possible down grade in our AAA rating by various rating’s agencies…remember that the markets are always forward pricing mechanisms so it will attempt to price in the risk of a downgrade…personally I believe it will occur unless we get a substantial debt reduction package AGREED to by BOTH parties in Congress…what are the odds of that happening?  Not much, at least as far as I can see thus far….

I also believe the economy will also slow down as we go thru the second half of the year so plan accordingly…for our Members I have posted a video in our Members Home page area so go check it out…

Our next scheduled Pre-Market Session is set for tomorrow morning before the markets open at 7:30 AM…this service seems to be very popular with folks which is really great and we’re having a lot of fun in our sessions…if you would like to learn more then send me a note….our one on one education sessions on Skype are also getting a lot of attention…

Folks, I wanted to just update my earlier post today with a view of the markets right at close today, July 18th 2011…as I indicated in my earlier post, the markets are either sitting slightly below or above key support levels….

The chart below of the DOW Mini Futures you can see how the Dow price action finished more to the upside and is sitting just above key support levels…this tells me the markets really are looking for reasons to move higher so watch the earnings reports to see how the markets react to their forecasts or future guidance…should the markets not be able to hold these support levels I would anticpate more downside movement….

And looking at the chart of the S&P E-Mini Futures right at 4 PM today you can see the “e-mini’s are looking a little bit weaker than the DOW…current price action shows price slightly below both the 50 and the 100 ema’s….

So, keep your stops tight since the VIX (markets volatility and “fear” gage) also closed up today as well….

Hey Folks, just a quick reminder the markets are either sitting directly on or directly below key support levels as I send out this post..the DOW Futures are currenly  just above the 50 Day EMA…a key support level at 12,264….if that number fails to hold today the next support level will be around 12,182 and then the 200 Day EMA is sitting at 11,765….use these levels to see how price action reacts as we begin the week…the S&P 500 Futures have fallen below the 50 Day EMA at 1,303 and below the 100 Day EMA at 1,301…the next support level is sitting at 1,257 which is the 200 Day EMA…keep these key support levels in mind if you are looking to invest longer term….short term the markets are digesting a lot of bad news which creates risk due to unknown factors….

Also, just a quick note that my PC has crashed and I am currently getting it replaced and should have it ready to go later today or tomorrow….so, I was unable to post a weekly update this past weekend….as for our Monthly session this past weekend it was well attended and a good discussion was had on a number of topics….we have posted a 55 minute video on Vertical Debit Spreads for our Members in our Learning Center under the Strategy tab so go check it out…..

As for our Pre-Market Trader meetings we’ve held 2 thus far and they were very well attended and more folks are signing up as we move forward…in addition the one on one personal education service via Skype is really taking off as well….

For our Pre-Market Traders please stay tuned since we will have to postpone tomorrow’s sessoin if I cannot get my PC recovered in time….if I can get my PC in time, then I will send out an invite later today….sorry for the hardware delays but it cannot be helped….

And finally, for our Members who use Thinkorswim trading platform stand by as we will shortly have a quick session on how I have set up the system to suite my needs….
